About this Episode:

In this episode of the Transformative Leader Podcast, I’m happy to bring you a conversation with organizational effectiveness and human development expert, Dr. Keith Merron, about the role that personal paradigms play in leadership, coaching, organizational culture, and personal transformation. Keith is the founder and Managing Partner of Leadership Pathways, an organizational consulting and leadership development firm dedicated to helping organizations with bold visions achieve sustainable high performance and industry leadership. His latest book is The Art of Transformational Coaching: A Guidebook For Helping Others Heal and Transform.

As an organization effectiveness and executive development consultant, Keith has more than 37 years of experience assisting executives and managers in business, government, and education. Keith has designed and led over 100 seminars and workshops for leaders. He has helped create some of the most innovative leadership training programs in the country. Keith is also known as powerful coach of executives and CEOs who want to deepen their ability to create extraordinary organizations.

It’s safe to say that Keith is a kindred spirit who has a deep and holistic understanding of a wide-range of topics related to leadership, coaching, consulting, personal development, and organizational effectiveness (as well as diversity, psychology, and so on). I really enjoyed our conversation, but based off of Keith’s bibliography alone, I can tell we were only able to scratch the surface of all the valuable insight he could share with listeners. I think this is a great episode that will give listeners a lot to think about, I would love to have Keith back on the show again, and I can’t recommend his work or his books highly enough. So be sure to check this episode out, and then visit Keith’s website to see everything he has to offer!

Some topics discussed in this episode include:

  • How Keith came to focus professionally on leadership, transformational coaching, and human and organizational development.

  • Why paradigms are of paramount important when it comes to personal development, and how paradigms are more than just a set of beliefs.

  • How transformational coaching differs from other ways of coaching, especially in focusing on psychology and patterns of behavior.

  • How coaches can respond to those who may be less willing to introspect and examine the causes of their limiting beliefs and behaviors.

  • And much more…

Keith Merron, Ed. D. is the author of five books on human and organizational change. They include: Riding the Wave: Designing Your Organization for Enduring Success, Consulting Mastery: How the Best Make the Biggest Difference, The Golden Flame: The Heart and Soul of Remarkable Leadership, Inner Freedom: Living Authentically the Life You Were Truly Meant to Live and Gender Intelligence: Breakthrough Strategies for Increasing Diversity and Improving Your Bottom Line, co-authored with Barbara Annis.
