About this Episode:
In this episode of the Transformative Leader Podcast, I’m happy to bring you a conversation with powerhouse podcast host, personal development coach, and friend of the show, Helli Hendesi, about how to build resilience in times of crisis and uncertainty. Helli is the host of Hellitalk, a personal development podcast in the Persian language with over 100K active listeners around the globe.
I first met Helli when I spoke at one of the events she was managing and I have been extremely impressed with her professionalism as a content manager and the far reaching impact she has had on the Persian-speaking communities around the world as an influencer.
I want to note that this is Helli’s first English language podcast episode, as her wildly popular podcast (with over 1 million downloads) is in the Persian language only. So she is venturing a little out of her comfort zone, and we really appreciate her courage in doing that for this episode. It means sharing her invaluable and transformative insights with an audience who otherwise wouldn’t have access to it, and so we hope our listeners appreciate that as well. (Who knows? Maybe I’ll do an episode in Farsi one day too!)
This was a deep philosophical conversation where we talk about many of the psychological, neurological, and evolutionary aspects of how we respond to uncertainty and crisis, as well as how understanding these responses allows us to build resilience to survive, and even thrive, when these situations arise in life or at work. Even if you feel you already understand this topic, I know you will find the conversation worthwhile. This is a timely reminder of mental habits that we should all be intentionally cultivating, especially given the current situation.
All in all, it was a great conversation, and it was wonderful having Helli on the show, and I can’t wait to collaborate with her in the future! Once again, I'm honored that she decided to join me as a guest for her English podcast debut, and I very much look forward to listening to her podcasts in English as she continues to expand her influence! Definitely be sure to give this episode a listen!
Some topics discussed in this episode include:
How Helli discovered her passion for helping people achieve their goals, and how she channeled that into her wildly successful podcast.
Why the ever-changing nature of life itself makes resilience an absolutely essential virtue to cultivate.
How our unique human ability to imagine conditions our response to danger and uncertainty, and why awareness of this is the first step to developing resilience.
A few different techniques for building resilience, such as: focusing on our circle of influence, asking ourselves the right questions, and abstaining from drawing conclusions and labeling events prematurely.
And more…
Helli Hendesi is a full-time conference content manager in the supply chain industry and a part-time personal development coach. Helli's passion is connecting people with opportunities through education, and she is a big believer that education can make the world a better place. She started her podcast, Hellitalk, in October 2018, and has plans to start a second podcast for English-speaking audiences later this year. Helli holds an MBA in Marketing and a Bachelor’s degree in business administration.
