About this Episode:

In this episode of The Transformative Leader Podcast, I’m happy to bring you a conversation with speaker, coach, and author, Paul Casey, about time management, protecting productivity, and controlling our calendars to stay effective as leaders. Paul is the founder and CEO of Growing Forward Services, whose aim is to “kick-start and inspire the leader inside everyone to exponentially grow in their skills, intentionally live by their values, and passionately make a greater difference in the world.” Paul has inspired thousands of individuals and leaders to grow forward through his seminars, his team-building off-site retreats, one-to-one self-leadership coaching, Mastermind groups, and as a keynote speaker (and through his podcast). He has also written 4 books: The Static Cling Principle (on habits and mindsets), Maximizing Every Minute (on time management), Leading the Team You’ve Always Wanted, and Leading with Super-Vision.

Paul has been a professional speaker for over 24 years (now giving over 75 presentations per year), and he is one of the leading authorities in leadership and personal growth—especially time management—helping people take back their calendars and restore sanity to their lives. He offers a free Control My Calendar Checklist, as well as the Restore My Sanity time management course, that I encourage listeners to check out. Although his focus is on time management, Paul is definitely a kindred spirit when it comes to his approach to leadership and personal coaching, focusing on the importance of habits and mindsets, setting priorities, creating a desired future, and developing self-leadership. This was a great conversation with a great leader, and listeners should be sure to check it out!

Some topics discussed in this episode include:

  • How Paul became interested in leadership and time management.

  • Why “to do“ lists often turn into “don’t want to do“ lists, and how to set priorities instead.

  • His tips for revolutionizing time management.

  • How to sustain productivity over time to succeed in life and work.

Paul D. Casey is the Founder and CEO of Growing Forward Services. Originally from Chicago, he has spoken for organizations like McDonalds, Subway, Lamb Weston, Northwest Public Power, and Autozone—and has coached leaders at Pacific NW National Laboratories and at Columbia Basin College. He is an ACC-certified coach with the International Coaching Federation, a Master Trainer, and is a member of the National Speakers Association. Paul has lived in the Tri-Cities, WA area for over 20 years, and for fun, he enjoys golfing, hiking, and bicycling—and he reads about 40 books per year. He is past president of Leadership Tri-Cities and currently volunteers as Chapter Chair of Mid-Columbia SCORE. Paul has a Master’s degree in education, and has been an educator/administrator/Chief Operating Officer in 5 non-profit organizations.
