In this episode of the Transformative Leader Podcast, I’m happy to bring you a conversation with speaker, author, and coach, Matt Sweetwood, about lessons we can learn about success and satisfaction from leading ourselves from disaster to success, in life and in business. Matt is the CEO of LUXnow, the world’s first portfolio of luxury rental assets. However, his greatest achievement is having raised five successful children to adulthood as a single dad. His most recent book is “Leader of the Pack: How a single dad of five led his kids, his business and himself from disaster to success.”
In his most recent book, Matt tells the story of how suddenly becoming a single father to five children made Matt a better person, leader, entrepreneur, and as you would hope, parent. His story is a fascinating one, and is a topic that I found interesting, considering that I am an advocate for learning from our life experiences to become better versions of ourselves. Personally, many of the most impactful lessons I have learned about life and leadership have come from my relationship with my children and my wife, so I can attest to the power of finding wisdom in places where we least expect it. Matt Sweetwood is the CEO of Luxnow. Before he went to Luxnow, he spent 29 years as CEO of Unique Photo. During that time he took them from 1M ARR to over 100M. He is also a successful serial entrepreneur, business consultant, award-winning marketer, social media influencer, personal branding expert, and photography instructor. Matt has appeared as a regular contributor on Fox News, NBC Today Show, CBS TV, News 12 NJ, PIX11, and other high-profile programs. He has also spoken publicly for organizations like Panasonic, UPS, PMDA, Microsoft, NJ Devils Hockey and the BMW CCA, and was a member of the prestigious CMO Club, where he won the President’s Award in 2014. Matt received his BA in mathematics from Rutgers University and MA in theoretical mathematics from the University of Pennsylvania and has a Ph.D. in computer science.
