About this Episode:

In this episode of The Transformative Leader Podcast, I’m happy to bring you a conversation with cybersecurity expert, Christian Espinosa, about the value of “soft“ skills in business, especially in industries and situations where technical skills are highly valued. Christian talks to us about the 7-step framework he calls “The Secure Methodology.” He also shares several nuggets from his book, The Smartest Person on the Room, in which he shows the readers how to leverage their company’s smartest minds to the benefit of the whole team.

Although Christian's background as a cybersecurity expert is highly technical, he has cracked the code on what it takes to put your technical expertise to work effectively. Christian describes why a high IQ is a lost superpower when effective communication, true intelligence, and self-confidence are not embraced.

Christian Espinosa is Alpine Security’s CEO/Founder. He holds over 25 certifications, including the CISSP, CCISO, and PMP. Christian is a US Air Force veteran with a BS in Engineering from the US Air Force Academy and MBA from Webster University. Christian holds multiple patents on cybersecurity attack and defense.

Christian is also a certified high-performance coach, professor, and lover of heavy metal music and spicy food, and Ironman triathlete. He used to value being the “smartest guy in the room,” only to realize that his greatest contribution to the fight against cybercrime is his ability to bring awareness to the issue through effective communication. Christian is a speaker, coach, and trainer in the Secure methodology, helping to make the smartest people in the room the best leaders in the field.
