The Transformative Leader Workshop Retreat Recap | February 2017

Last week, we held our second public workshop at Serenbe and we could not be happier about the caliber of participants we had at the event. Once again, we had a great mix of industries represented, as well as different functions, levels of responsibility, and geographic locations, not to mention a variety of business situations and challenges. Our participants came from 8 companies across 9 states and they took my request to heart that they should treat the session as a potluck, rather than a buffet, and they made massive contributions to each other and to our team with their active participation.

This time, we changed the format of the retreat to include a full day session, an evening activity around the fire pit (complete with s’mores and hot chocolate) and a half day session the next day. This format allowed for much more interaction among the participants, each of whom brought a wealth of experience and perspective to the table. The real treat for me was that we got to hear from the participants about what they got from the first day’s discussions on the morning of the second day. As I have done these workshops over the past several years in companies I have worked for or consulted with, the first hour of the second day has always been my favorite part of the session as we all get to hear about the discoveries that each participant has had and what they plan to do with their new insights.

I very much look forward to having my follow-up coaching calls with everyone who participated so we can get into the specifics of their victories and challenges, and ensure that they continue to have a practical game plan to produce extraordinary results and experience unprecedented fulfillment because of their participation in the workshop.

Our team at The Ghannad Group completely gets that what we do is all about the participants and we truly appreciate and honor those who make the time to attend our workshops or engage us for private events. We are focused on creating impeccable experiences that leave every participant feeling great about the value they got out of engaging with our team. And we always feel so validated when we get the flash feedback at the end of our events and see how many of our participants would recommend that their friends and colleagues attend our future sessions. This time, once again, 100% of the participants said they would recommend the experience and we are thrilled about that and what it means about the difference our time together is making in their worlds.

If I may, I’d like to put a plug in for our team, as I believe it is just as important for any organization to honor and acknowledge their team members as it is to respect and cherish their clients. I feel extremely fortunate to be on a team of people with diverse backgrounds, experiences, styles, and ideas. I am the one i n front of the room but everyone else on the team goes out of their way to ensure that every detail is taken care of so that the participants and I have a seamless experience as we engage in an empowering dialogue and create the context in which we all experience a transformation. I feel extremely blessed to be working with my family and doing the work that we all love to do, and I don’t ever see us just doing this work as a routine to “check the box.” Everything we do, from the three email messages we sent prior to the event to get the participants ready, to the sundries we provide in the restrooms and the swag bag with a bunch of fine products made in Atlanta by small businesses, to the mechanisms we have put in place to support the participants over the course of the next three months with free coaching calls, webinars, e-books, etc., is aimed at creating a space of transformation, and none of it would be possible without my lovely wife, Connie, and my wonderful daughter and son, Naseem and Naveed. Thank you guys!

We have been very fortunate to have had so many registrations based on word of mouth recommendations alone and we continue to count on this being the case and only growing in the future, as more clients get exposed to the unique approaches that we use. With that said, I would also encourage those of you reading this or my other posts, who have never attended my talks, to consider that my training sessions and workshops are not just for those “other” people. They are also applicable to you and the organizational challenges you are facing at this moment. I would love to engage in a dialogue with you about the challenges that are keeping your team from achieving excellence in terms of results and fulfillment and I would encourage you not to put that kind of conversation off until “someday” and make it happen.

We are planning to hold our next public workshop in May, the exact date TBD. I’d love to have a conversation with you about whether the workshop is right for you. If you are skeptical about training sessions, I fully understand. The truth is that there are way too many cookie-cutter, one-size-fits-all classes out there promising you the “secret formula” for what to do in every situation, while there are very few that help you get to the root of why it is that you are not doing what you already know you should. It is that kind of realization that we are after in the Transformative Leader Workshop and I would love to have the chance to have a conversation with you to explore the possibilities of such realizations, as well as what they would mean for you, your organization, and your communities. It is easy to schedule a free consultation call by emailing Naseem at naseem@theghannadgroup.com.

As always, have a great week! May you Boldly Declare, Courageously Pursue, and Abundantly Achieve the Extraordinary! I would love to hear about your victories and/or challenges. Please leave your comments below, leave me a voice message, or send me an email at amir@theghannadgroup.com.
