About this Episode:

In this episode of the Transformative Leader Podcast, I’m happy to bring you a conversation with Mark Morey about his refreshingly different approach to leadership that takes us back to timeless and universal principles that govern nature, and how they might guide us in our personal and professional lives. In our conversation, Mark Morey enlightens us on how to go beyond the short answer and be present to the cultural dynamics that are at play in the workplace. Mark shares his insightful wisdom on how leaders can use these principles to create success and fulfillment in their organizations.

Mark Morey is the founder of A Connected Leader, an executive leadership consulting firm focused on transforming struggling, outdated work environments into thriving cultures of human development, as well as evolving executive leadership capability. Mark is passionate about helping companies grow and develop employee talent and engagement and loves to demonstrate the power that comes with becoming a leader of conscious culture within your company.

Mark’s fascinating journey has taken him down many paths, always being guided by the principles of wanting to leave the world a better place than how he found it. Mark believes that companies can be an instrument of social change, and looks to nature as one of the inspirations for how to create connected and thriving cultures.

As an artist, he realized that the culture of school was outdated,  dropped out and took education into his own hands. His journey has led him to working at Outward Bound, leading the executive MBA off-site program at the INSEAD School of Business in Paris. After that he went further off-trail and apprenticed to the deeper aspects of being human with cultural elders and teachers around the world.

From there he spent 20 years building an international network of cultural and organizational leaders, evolving new systems of education to meet the ecological and social imperatives of our times. Today, he works closely with Fortune 500 Companies like Nike by helping them develop employee leadership skills, personal development, and culture that not only benefits the growth of the company but also empowers their employees to go out and change the world.
