About this Episode:

In this episode of The Transformative Leader Podcast, I’m excited to bring you a discussion with high-performance executive coach, best-selling author, and developer of “Cards Against Mundanity,“ Jason Treu. Jason helps companies develop strong internal relationships to establish a culture where people enjoy showing up to work, consequently increasing productivity and driving revenue. In his work, he recognizes the essential role that interpersonal skills and self-awareness play in successfully leading high performance organizations. A leading expert on human behavior, leadership, influence, and networking, Jason understands that the only way to create HPOs is by creating high-performing cultures, and the only way to do that is by helping leaders uncover their blind spots and replace them with extraordinary habits and skill sets that create success and fulfillment for the whole team. This was a really great conversation with a passionate guest, and listeners really can’t afford to miss this episode!

In case you’re wondering, yes Jason is definitely another kindred spirit, and I really enjoyed our conversation. I really love how he has formulated and framed many of his teachings, such as his 10 leadership skill sets. Just to give you some examples, he talks about the need for social awareness, the ability to respond to the needs of others as a leader, as well as the fact that, in any organization composed of people, their “personal” problems are the leader’s “business” problems. He teaches that as a leader, they key to success is developing and combining extroverted skills, such as relationship building and communication, with introverted skills, such as empathy and self-awareness. Jason understands, as do many of our fellow kindred spirits, that until and unless a leader is willing to do the work of developing “soft skills,“ such as emotional intelligence, introspection, trust, vulnerability, being able to sit through discomfort and uncertainty, then they will never reach their full potential, and consequently, they will remain the bottleneck to their organization and community delivering breakthrough results and experiencing unprecedented fulfillment.

Jason also talks about key concepts to understand when it comes to creating a high-performing culture, and what specific actions leaders and organizations can take, regardless of size, to quickly create an extraordinary culture. At the foundation of these concepts and actions are building trust, creating psychological safety, and open communication that strengthens interpersonal relationships. These are just a few of a the topics that we touch on in our discussion, and I can’t recommend this episode to my listeners highly enough! Jason was a great guest and I look forward to connecting with him again soon!
