In this episode, I address a key point that often causes otherwise successfully executed projects to produce less than desirable results. That problem is that we often underestimate the work that needs to be done in parallel to transform the workplace culture in a way that takes full advantage of the operational or technological changes that are made as a part of an improvement effort. Even those organizations that do take the culture transformation work into consideration often view it as a part of the work as opposed to the overall context for everything that is changing. Whether you are running an operation of some sort and you are under pressure to deliver results, or you are a trainer or consultant or project manager supporting your clients in implementing changes that are intended to improve results, you are always better off taking the cultural implications into consideration on the front-end and letting them be the guide for the overall context of all the work that you do.
